Allgood, I know this won't sway you towards the Cats but the entire excavator (all the way up to the 330 for US market[I believe]) is made in Japan at the Mitsubishi factory. Most small loaders and dozers are as well. From waht I heard Cat bought the Mitsubishi factory so that they could be allowed into the Japanese market. You make good points at what this stuff costs. Hi, Hi, I am still looking for a 12,000 lb excavator. I am still do not know wich equipements are best for, easy to do work, better capacities & more reliable on a long term run. I am not a contractor to change equipement at every . We owned a Kubota kx-040 from new to about 700h. Really nice hydraulics; smooth, powerful, really fast. Great dealers here as well. Just didn’t like the dpf.. So I think a U27-4 would be my pick, no emissions to worry about. We have owned a couple of 27’s and have done a lot of work with.
Ok you can laugh now or give me crap later :D I just wired off money to China. Alibaba score! I purchased one 1.8t mini ex and a mini skid steer. Skid steer is tracked and 25 hp Kubota diesel. I was told about 45 days to Port of Tampa. I got 6 additional attachments between the 2, in addition. Go with a hyd. thumb would be my suggestion. I use a Werk Brau thumb and coupler and have had three of them now and like them a lot. But I would not waste the money on a rigid thumb on a mini. The aux. hyd. are all ready plumbed to the stick on most mini ex's. I think for my thumb and coupler was around 2500. Go with a hyd. thumb would be my suggestion. Most people feel the equipment they own is the best, brand loyalty does drive the market. What's best for me may not be best for you. There was a time when I was loyal to Case and owned a 9030B, 9020B, 850G & 75XT. Partly because Case makes good products and more so because Case was the closest dealer who could service my needs.
