The Engine : This is a Wisconsin VH4D air Cooled, with a magneto ignition system. It is a 4 cylinder gas engine with a zenith 68 carb. In researching issues with this motor everyone says make sure the area around the heads under the guards is clean. If air cant get there, the motor cannot cool. So the plugs and guards came off. I have a international harvester 3200 a skid steer with Wisconsin engine vh4d that needs to be replaced due to all the gears being broken including the governor assembly.

I just bought an early 70's 3200a internation skid steer. When I bought this it had a skip and it liked to blow alot of black smoke. It should have a VH4D - 27 HP engine. The 3300B has the VG4D. Someone may have thrown a mag on it - maybe the flywheel generation system was faulty. Or maybe it is a replacement engine. Anyway, are you sure its bad? Did he check the points? Mags are rather robust - but points do get a non-conductive film on them when engines sit. Also .It has a wisconson engine and has already been swapped over to 12 volts. The only thing is that the roll cage is missing from this unit. If any ones where I might be able to pick up a roll cage if I do bye this unit please reply.
