Tightening A Skid Steer Alternator Belt
Your main drive belt is loose or needs replaced. The have a spring loaded adjuster but once it adjusts so far the spring needs to be re wound again. Of course if oil got on the belt . Chances are that it could be a slipping belt, depending on hours and use this isn't unusual. If you don't have one, there should be a 753 book in the manual thread that details all aspects of belt tensioning and troubleshooting.

Everything else checked out fine, so I went back to an oem type solid belt. Had an awful squeal coming from my 95 XT skid engine room. I replaced the alternator first as it is usually the bearing that goes first. Not much difference. Also water pump (saved it for a spare for my other Cummins 4BTs). Little difference.
