Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone out there had some ideas or plans for building different skidsteer attachments-- whether they've been built before or not. Or maybe just ideas for improvement on current designs. Just picking brains and looking for input. Thanks!
I was going to build an attachment for my Bobcat but never got around to it. I'm not too sure on the speed, but I'd say 2-3,000 RPM as its close to a 1:1 ratio from the engine (belt driven). I would hook up a hydraulic motor with a flow restrictor to get your speed rite, it would then roll with the power of the skid steer. You are absolutely correct, the bracket is a fair bit larger for my skid loader. I'm still looking for the file. Our shop has designed a very nice "universal" quick attach bracket now, tho. If anyone needs one, let me know. We are making them from either 1/4" or 3/8" plate. Thanks, Dan I am feeding the liquid protein tailings from a local brewery with the use of my skid steer and 300 gallon totes and hoses. I fill about 100 feet of various troughs with a short hose. Being AMONG the cattle has tamed them as opposed to just running it . as a fab guy myself , welder by trade and home machinest for 10+ yrs i only build by plans when they are brought to me then i spec it out as as for , other than that for all bobcat attachments all i need is to see it , then in my mind the wheels are turning then spec the build out on paper and then go to town . getting ready to build a grapple to pull logs out like a skidder .
Here's a little video I made on my very first fabrication project. A root rake / grapple It cost me less than 00 to build and I could have built it for. This is my first post. I have noticed on a number of web forums that there is significant interest in the specifications for the "Universal Attachment Mount". This specification was published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in June 2000 as "Earthmoving Machinery - - Coupling of Attachments to Skid Steer Loaders" Skid Steer Genius - 7 pin 2 port new 5 buy for 5, used 2 times last winter to operate wings on snow plow, Worked great ended up buying different plow this year. Like New condition Call or txt Ed 413 478-1333 John , fisrt thing is to relieve the pressure on the machines quick couplers before trying to hook up the hoses as if there is pressure on the coupler then it will be hard or impossible to push the connector on , you release the pressure by working your steering lever right and left a couple of times , you should also relieve the pressure .
It's also handy to have when digging on the side of hills. I normally leave the Tilt Tach attached to my bucket, but if you were to use the same bucket under both conditions (with/without the tilt tach), you'd notice a slight difference in performance. I'm sure there would be a difference in using it with a tracked machine vs a wheeled skid steer.
