I have a CTL 70 GHEL that I want to put a dozer type blade on. I have seen several of these for sale online for 3000 plus with the 6 way option. I am however thinking I would just build it as a straight bucket and wait till i can find a used Bob Tach rotator. I think from the blades I have seen it needs to be really heavy. With dozer, hook out an area with blade corner (or up and down the slope if not too steep) to level a starting pad then just keep working that grade through the hillside, hook it out and push it over.
I really want to make my own skid steer plow and add the features that I want. I have a few questions however: What is the best way to go with down pressure? I want to make the plow semi rigid like on a spring or coil over strut. Or just make it hang on a chain? Ideas? And for all you guys with skid steer plows two things. Use the bucket instead, it gives you more weight up front when it's loaded and you can keep digging and pushing in the same slot, that makes it very productive. I used to use it then roll the crumbs back into the drive with the snow blade on the snapper, but the snapper died and ended that method. The dozer blade on the 7520 can be tilted and angled and run in first gear, but it really doesn't work very well.
