I'd like to be able to push my land plane forward in float mode on a skid steer and have it only be gravity weight of the arms and the land plane on the surface of the road. Is there a skid steer that will function in float like this? In the case of snow removal, the lift arms could be floated while the bucket would be tilted up slightly so the rear of the bucket serves as a skid. Does anyone know of any reason the float position should not be used going forward? To clarify, my machine has a light for "Floating Bucket" on the panel behind the left headlight. I can't get the light to come on. My machine has a floating bucket? If I press on the left pedal will the light come on?

I had an older skid steer with foot pedals and partially catapulted my head into the top of the roll bar because it went into float a little too easily.
