My trailer tires are rated at 65 mph but I'm in no hurry. I have towed a mini excavator and skid steer And I didn’t really even bat and eye multiple times nor did the truck. Trailer breaks and everything is in good working order. I took a look at the hitch and for the life of me can not figure out the class.
If all you are doing is towing with this truck, go to a 6.4, or even better, a Cummins. If you are set on keeping this truck, and want to re-gear, go lower than the 4.10's. From everything I've read on this forum, and others, 4.10's are alright but lower gears are much better.
