A guy struggles around here to get .00 to .00 an hour and seems line 95% of the customers dont want to give you anything for traveling to and from there site even if it is over an hour away. Theres too many people around here laid off willing to work for .00 to .00 an hour and charging nothing extra for fuel or travel time to the site. If the rates the pro's use sound high, do some more research to find the true cost of this type of business. As far as MTL vs Skid, the tires will run in the to per hr range, while the tracks seem to be in the to per hr range!!!! The MTL's are very productive, but there is a high price in repair and replacement of the u/c. lol, we're probably not signing 2 contracts this year because the rates for a skid loader are set to per hour. i mean if i owned a 1996 bobcat with a 0 10 year old beat box, maybe thats fine, but our 50k Deeres are not sitting at a lot for 4 months out of the year almost to hope for /hr billing with a big snow storm, we have 2hr minimums and im not transporting .

Locally these are the rates I bill for a skid steer and labor but I hardly ever do hourly work. an hour for tracked skid steer, 4 hour minimum .50 for labor 0 per mob, can be more depending on distance. Depending on what skid steer you've got I'd be willing to bet your depreciation and wear and tear costs are a fair amount more than per hour. I've got a NH Powerstar T4.75 enclosed cab tractor with front end loader and an Alamo flail mower.
