The easiest way is to jump it and start it. Then raise the boom fully, remove the engine side panel, and possibly the side panel extension (if it has one) which guides and holds the lower portion of the engine side panel, then the battery. On my larger machine the battery is very heavy and is very awkward to lift. Lock the boom up. Use two small bars to help lift the battery. I haven't had to do it in awhile, but was wondering if you can lift the battery by the battery posts. It takes about a minute to remove the bolts and raise the cab assembly. You do not have to raise the boom to do this but raising the boom does make access t. When I got air in my fuel lines/killed the alternator/lost the battery/etc, , I was able to lift the boom by using the starter to drive the pumps. I have to hook up a jump box (which isn't easy but can be done by squeezing through the side panel holes) to do it, but it does work - .
