As someone looking to add a skid steer on a modest budget to the farm, I've found several Mustang's in my price range but I'm leary based on lack of positive reviews. Since you qualified it with 'most powerful' then I'd have to suggest the Gehl 7800/Mustang 2109/2105 model with 110 hp cummins and yanmars, both of which are my most favorite, reliable engines. There are more of these models with the T bar control, fewer with case style controls, and fewer with hand/foot control.

The main thing to check is wear and if the engine starts easily when stone cold. If its warm it tells you nothing about its condition. Look for smoke when its loaded down.
