See the pros and cons of Takeuchi, Kubota, Cat, Yanmar, Hitachi and more. TB series TB135 is a very good machine , as was the TB035 and the TB35 , I have been around the Takeuchi excavators since they were called Job and Tiger , got to see them grow into what they are now , have got a lot of help over the years from the factory in Atlanta , a very solid machine with good product support and part availability I have a farm that needs all sorts of things dug and dirt moved. I've been agonizing over several used mini-excavators that fit the bill. I'm looking at the Kubota KX91-3 and KX121-3, and the Takeuchi TB235 and TB138FR. These are all great machines. I .
For a mini, a machine with a big butt is always better. You don't need a zero turn machine unless you have no room to work. Kobelco makes great full szie machines, but they don't specialize in mini excavators like Takeuchi and Kubota. I'm a Takeuchi guy with four of their machines. The TB 260 or TB290 would be good machines in the Takeuchi line. Takeuchi was also losing market share prior to Terex coming out with that POS SSL and I think that the Kubota is similar to the Tak CTL regarding an average cab with a reputation for being built well. That is the main reason why I think they are losing more, probably directly to Kubota. I’m looking to buy a small excavator and I’m looking at a TB260, does anyone have any first hand knowledge of them with any pro’s and con’s? We’ve always ran CAT’s but I’m looking to start going a different route as Equipement . Users share their experiences and solutions for running warm or hot Takeuchi TB260 excavators. Possible causes include fan, belt, water pump, and radiator problems.
I've got 4 Takeuchi TB180FR, a TB53FR, and, a recently acquired Yanmar Vio55. They've all been great machines, but, the FR Takeuchi machines have a cramped cab due to the side shifting boom, and an afterthought air conditioner. As for the Yanmar, the icing on the cake is the integrated, factory installed, hydraulic bucket coupler. On the other hand, the Takeuchi TB290 is the only machine that does NOT have a 23.7" wide steel track (only 21.7" wide), but I included it because its specs otherwise are so outstanding. I have further concentrated on the longest stick available for each model. Some models only have one stick length, others offer a short & long option. I currently own a 2021 Takeuchi TB260 and a 2015 TL10. The only other machines I have run were a Deere 35D and Bobcat T590. I used to own a Deere 310J backhoe and a Kubota KX040 mini X a while back. Most users report the controls are more responsive on the Takeuchi equipment and I concur. I like that because I think they are more precise.
