We're looking for a newer model used skid steer. Never owned one before but have ran a few Cats. What models and brands does everyone like? We want a mid size one that will lift at least a ton. The skid-steer will never visit a dealer or mechanic while I have it. One reason I like this particular series is because they're easy to work on, and the parts are available for cheap through the aftermarket.
We bought our first skid steer last year. Mainly for building fence lines, but also for cleaning sheds, so lower height was a limitation. I've always been a deere guy, and after having worked for CAT for a number of years and seeing how many of their skid steers came in broke down, I decided that I didn't want a CAT.marbro1 - 5/2/2024 20:16 Newer Case, Cat or JD skid steer, give me some pros and cons of models that are less than 5 years old. Anything to look for at 1K hours other than normal wear and tear? Would be a track machine doing dirt work, tree removal, all around farm jobs.
