Looking at a T190. test drove today and notices a loud whine (or at least louder then I expected) when turning. Salesman said it's normal since it wasn't running full throttle, had it at half throttle at time. I'm new to skid steers, so I'm not sure what is normal. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it normal to get some whine when turning? I have a New Holland L185 skid loader that's developed an excessive amount of hydraulic noise in the last 10 or so hours of use. Skid loader is a 2010 with 580 hours on it. Check inside the hydraulic filter for signs of metal/debris indicating a pump failure. Be sure that the oil level is full. Check the oil temp after an hour of use, hydraulic oil (aw46 or equivelant) is ok to 200 -250 degrees but over that number would not be the best case for your pump. Engine oil does not do well over 200 degrees long term.
