My brother in law and I are looking at skid steers and he will only buy a Case. I . I have a Case 435 skidloader in the shop that I need to tilt the cab forward to check out a starter problem and the cab is very heavy, hard to tip forward. I suspect bad gas struts, but there is no operators manual with the unit and I don't want to break something by using a hoist if there is something holding it. I'm struggling to tilt the cab on this's new-to-me machine. I am following instructions in manual and can start to lift the cab but cannot keep it moving to tilt fully. I am thinking of using a come-along to pull it up, but don't want to tear it up if I have missed something.

If I grab the metal plate under the seat and lift from there then it comes up fine. It almost seems like it has a safety catch that I have not been able to locate.
