JCB parts, I've heard, can be difficult to obtain and can be spendy. I was never fond of the Robot uni-arm setup, just seemed kinda stupid. All that torque and abuse going to one side of the machine. Sure it's probably beefed up on that one side, but in no way is it a stiffer/better setup than a tradition skid steer.
I will start with this qualifying statement. I have not run the Robot. I have, however, ran other JCB equipment (although it's been several years) that had some hours on them. My rationale is if my skid steer has a 3400 pound ROC, I quickly become used to what it can lift, however on a telescoping arm, the lift capacity rapidly reduces itself as the weight is projected out.
