I'd start with disconnecting a speed sensor at the speed sensor, key on, stick your multimeter into the supply & return (should get something close to 8v) and wiggle the wires. Look for changes in voltage. Just bought a used 299d XHP with 1900 hrs. has code for LH speed sensor #1, and LH #2 frequency or pulse. At Idle RH reads 0-RPM, LH reads like 16900 RPM. The event designates the unexpected motor speed detection control has been disabled due to a motor speed sensor circuit fault. A motor speed sensor circuit fault includes the motor speed signals and power supply (8V Power Supply).

The wires get ripped out of the sensor housing most of the time and, at 240ish a pop, it gets old quick. Hopefully, the band-aid we've instituted will prevent further carnage. It's not perfect but hopefully sufficient. See below.

I am going to try replacing the Engine Speed Sensor #2 and preforming the attached UENR3423-23 Speed Timing Test to troubleshoot first. If anyone has any other ideas I am curious to hear them before I take it back to the Dealer.
