Just bought a used 299d XHP with 1900 hrs. has code for LH speed sensor #1, . I'd start with disconnecting a speed sensor at the speed sensor, key on, stick your multimeter into the supply & return (should get something close to 8v) and wiggle the wires. Anyone have any tips on changing one of these out? Looks like cab needs to be lifted and not sure if track has to come off to get to the sensor. Need to tackle this repair soon. We go through our fair share of wheel speed sensors on the 299. The wires get ripped out of the sensor housing most of the time and, at 240ish a pop, it gets old quick. Hopefully, the band-aid we've instituted will prevent further carnage. It's not perfect but hopefully sufficient. I am going to try replacing the Engine Speed Sensor #2 and preforming the attached UENR3423-23 Speed Timing Test to troubleshoot first. If anyone has any other ideas I am curious to hear them before I take it back to the Dealer. This is a deep, warm-toned green almost jelly base with dense gold glitter all throughout. It has a bit of an uneven 1st coat with that jelly base, but easily covers and is fully opaque with a 2nd. There’s enough of a jelly base that it’s not gritty on the nails and removal is easy – though you might just have golden glitter all over your cuticles.
